Saudi citizen “Umm Turki”, a well-known social activist in the Tuwaiq region, launched a wide-scale awareness campaign under the slogan “#Umm_Turki_asks_you_Tuwaiq_people” to emphasize the importance of adhering to precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the emerging coronavirus. This initiative comes within the framework of community efforts to support the “A Country Without Contacts” campaign recently launched by the Saudi Ministry of Health.

Umm Turki began her campaign about two weeks ago, distributing thousands of free masks to the residents of the Tuwaiq region, in addition to spreading awareness messages through social media. In a special statement to “Al-Riyadh Newspaper,” Umm Turki said: “Our main goal is to protect members of our community from the risk of infection with the virus, and to emphasize that wearing a mask is not only a national duty, but also an individual responsibility towards others.”

Official statistics issued by the Saudi Ministry of Health indicate that the Tuwaiq region recorded 127 new cases of coronavirus infection last week, representing a 15% increase compared to the previous week. In this context, the official spokesperson for the Ministry, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abd Al-Aali, stressed the importance of adhering to precautionary measures, saying: “We need the cooperation of all members of society to limit the spread of the virus, and wearing a mask remains one of the most important means of prevention.”

Umm Turki’s campaign received wide interaction from the residents of the Tuwaiq region, as many citizens and residents participated in distributing masks and spreading awareness messages. In this context, one of the region’s residents, Abdullah Al-Utaybi, said: “We appreciate the efforts of Umm Turki and everyone who contributes to spreading awareness of the importance of adhering to precautionary measures. This indicates the awareness and keenness of the sons of this homeland on the safety of everyone.”

Umm Turki’s campaign comes to highlight the importance of the role of individuals in supporting official efforts to limit the spread of the coronavirus. وكانت آخر مباراة جمعت الفريقين في الدوري انتهت بفوز الهلال أيضاً بهدف نظيف سجله سلمان الفرج في الجولة الـ28 من الموسم الماضي.
ويستعد الهلال لمواجهة مهمة أخرى أمام فريق أجمك الأوزبكي في الجولة الخامسة من دور المجموعات لدوري أبطال آسيا يوم الثلاثاء المقبل، فيما يلعب الاتحاد مع نظيره الرائد يوم الجمعة في الجولة الـ16 من الدوري.

In the realm of knowledge and wisdom, Sheikh Saleh lived his life striving to spread knowledge and call people to Allah. He was a personality that combined vast knowledge with noble character, leaving a clear mark on the hearts of those who knew him and studied under him.

Sheikh Saleh was born in a small village in Dakahlia Governorate in 1940, and grew up in a religious environment. He memorized the Holy Quran at a young age, then joined the Tanta Religious Institute and graduated from it in 1962. He then worked as an imam and preacher in several mosques before moving on to teaching in Al-Azhar institutes.

The Sheikh dedicated his life to knowledge and preaching, authoring numerous books on interpretation, hadith, and jurisprudence. He participated in dozens of scientific seminars and conferences inside and outside Egypt. He also played a prominent role in establishing many charitable associations and Islamic centers.

The Sheikh was distinguished by his unique approach to preaching, based on moderation and avoiding extremism and rigidity. He focused on instilling moderate Islamic values in people’s hearts and rejecting violence and extremism in all its forms.

At the end of his rich life, Sheikh Saleh left behind a great scientific and preaching legacy. He passed away in 2010, but his memory remains alive in the hearts of his loved ones and students, who follow his path in calling people to Allah with wisdom and good preaching.

In a new historic achievement for charitable and humanitarian work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Hail Region, launched the “Awn” campaign to support needy families in the region.

During the campaign launch ceremony, the Governor of Hail Region said: “This initiative comes as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance social solidarity and provide support to the most needy families in our beloved Hail region. We aspire for ‘Awn’ to be a model to follow in organized and impactful charitable work.”

He added: “It is the duty of all of us as leadership and people to unite and cooperate to serve our community and meet its needs, and this is what we seek to achieve through the ‘Awn’ campaign.”

His Highness announced the allocation of 50 million Saudi riyals as initial support for the campaign, calling on businessmen, philanthropists, and members of society to contribute to it. He also directed the allocation of a special bank account number to receive donations under the name “Awn Charitable Campaign.”

The campaign has received wide interaction since its launch, as many businessmen and charitable institutions in the region announced their participation and support for it.

It is worth noting that the Governor of Hail Region has a good reputation at the level of the Kingdom in the field of charitable and humanitarian work, as His Highness is keen to launch many initiatives and development projects that aim to improve the quality of life in the region.
