King Muhammad bin Saud passed away in 1179 AH, leaving behind a great legacy and a strong state. His son and successor, Imam Abdulaziz bin Muhammad bin Saud, said of him: “My father, may Allah have mercy on him, was a righteous man, just in his rule, beloved by his subjects, and striving for their interests.”

Today, centuries later, the principles and values of King Muhammad bin Saud still form the basic reference for governance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
