The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has launched the “Saudi Establishment” initiative to train and qualify 100,000 young Saudi men and women to join the workforce in data and AI fields. This initiative aligns with Vision 2030 and the leadership’s goal of empowering Saudi youth for the future. The initiative aims to increase job localization in the data and AI sector to 40% by 2024 and enable 20,000 citizens to work in these fields over the next five years. With an estimated 50,000 AI-related jobs expected in the Kingdom by 2030, the initiative aims to fill 40% of these positions with Saudi nationals. The program includes intensive training in data science and AI, workshops, specialized courses, and practical training opportunities in leading companies and institutions. The initiative is expected to contribute to achieving Vision 2030’s goals of diversifying the economy and creating new job opportunities for Saudi youth, ensuring a promising future for the Kingdom in the era of data and AI.

In a major transfer deal that shook the football world, French star Karim Benzema signed a 3-year contract with Al-Ittihad Jeddah club, joining from Real Madrid in a deal worth €200 million per year.

Benzema expressed his great happiness at joining the Saudi league, stating: “I am very excited about this new experience in my career, and I look forward to giving my best with Al-Ittihad.”

This deal comes after Benzema’s illustrious 14-year career with Real Madrid, during which he achieved numerous titles and individual and collective achievements.

It’s worth noting that the 35-year-old Benzema is the top scorer in the Spanish league with 354 goals, and he won the Ballon d’Or award in 2022.

Benzema’s transfer to the Saudi league is expected to have a significant impact on the level of competition in the tournament, as he joins a long list of global stars who have recently moved to play in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Faisaliah Stadium in Riyadh witnessed a fiery summit within the competitions of the 15th round of the Roshn Saudi League, which brought together Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad, and ended with a resounding victory for the blue team with a score of 3-0, in a match that witnessed a remarkable brilliance from the stars of the capital, and a surprising decline from the holder of the title.

The match began with a clear Al-Hilal control, as the team succeeded in imposing its rhythm from the beginning, taking advantage of the retreat of Al-Ittihad’s midfield. In the 23rd minute, Salem Al-Dosari opened the scoring with a powerful shot from inside the penalty area, giving Al-Hilal a deserved lead. At the beginning of the second half, Jang Hyun-soo strengthened Al-Hilal’s lead with a second goal in the 59th minute, before Malcom concluded the hat-trick in the 72nd minute with a wonderful shot from outside the area.

Romanian coach Razvan Lucescu, Al-Hilal’s coach, commented on the victory, saying: “We presented a great match from the tactical and technical aspects. The players executed the instructions accurately, and we deserved the three points.”

On the other hand, coach Nuno Santo, Al-Ittihad’s coach, expressed his dissatisfaction with the performance, saying: “We did not appear at the required level today. Al-Hilal was better in all lines, and we must work hard to correct the mistakes.”

With this result, Al-Hilal raised its score to 37 points at the top of the standings table, while Al-Ittihad’s score froze at 28 points in fourth place.

It is noteworthy that this match witnessed a large crowd, as the stands were filled with enthusiastic fans, which added exciting atmospheres to the match.

King Mohammed bin Saud was born in Riyadh in 1909, the eldest son of King Abdulaziz Al Saud, founder of modern Saudi Arabia. He became Governor of Riyadh in 1926 at the age of 17, a position he held until his father’s death in 1953.

Mohammed bin Saud passed away in 1988 at the age of 79, leaving behind a significant legacy in Saudi Arabian history. He is considered one of the symbols of the modern Saudi state and made substantial contributions to the country’s progress and development across various fields.

Riyadh – Saudi student Maryam has achieved remarkable success in the field of technology and innovation, securing first place in the “Innovation in Electronic Systems” competition recently organized by King Saud University.

Maryam, a 21-year-old fourth-year student in the College of Engineering majoring in Computer Engineering, designed an intelligent system for monitoring air quality in enclosed spaces using artificial intelligence technologies.

In a statement to “Al-Riyadh Newspaper,” Maryam said: “My goal for this project was to provide a practical solution to the problem of indoor air pollution, which affects human health. I used advanced sensors and intelligent algorithms to analyze the surrounding environment and provide immediate recommendations.”

She added: “I am proud to represent Saudi women in the field of science and technology, and I aspire to contribute to developing innovative solutions for our community’s problems.”

Dr. Ahmed Al-Zahrani, Dean of the College of Engineering, praised Maryam’s achievement, saying: “This victory is a culmination of our university’s efforts to support and encourage creative students. Maryam is a role model for Saudi women excelling in scientific and technological fields.”

Maryam received a financial prize of 50,000 Saudi Riyals, in addition to an opportunity to incubate her project in the university’s technology business incubator.

It’s worth noting that this is not Maryam’s first achievement in the field of innovation. She previously won second place in the “Hajj Hackathon” in 2022 for a project aimed at facilitating pilgrims’ movement using a smart application.

This achievement comes within the framework of the efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to empower women and support their participation in science, technology, and innovation sectors, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

The Saudi British Bank (SABB) celebrates 30 years of establishment, confirming its leading position in the Saudi banking sector and its significant contributions to supporting the national economy.
