On the 275th anniversary of the founding of the First Saudi State, we recall the life of its founding leader, King Muhammad bin Saud bin Muhammad bin Muqrin (1090-1179 AH). Historians praised King Muhammad bin Saud’s wisdom, his ability to build a strong and organized army, and establish balanced diplomatic relations with neighboring countries. His reign was also characterized by the application of Islamic Sharia in all aspects of life and the encouragement of science and education.

King Muhammad bin Saud passed away in 1179 AH, leaving behind a great legacy and a strong state. His son and successor, Imam Abdulaziz bin Muhammad bin Saud, said of him: “My father, may Allah have mercy on him, was a righteous man, just in his rule, beloved by his subjects, and striving for their interests.”

Today, centuries later, the principles and values of King Muhammad bin Saud still form the basic reference for governance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His wise leadership and far-sighted vision paved the way for the unification of the country and the building of a strong modern state, standing today as a testament to the greatness of this founding leader.
