On February 22, 1727, the Arabian Peninsula witnessed a prominent historical event as Imam Mohammed bin Saud founded the First Saudi State, marking the beginning of a long journey of unification and building toward the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This important national occasion, which was approved by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz through a royal decree, represents a pivotal moment in the country’s history.

On February 22, 1727, Imam Mohammed bin Saud began his emirate in Diriyah, thereby establishing the nucleus of the First Saudi State. This foundation was not merely a political event but the beginning of a new phase in the region’s history. As mentioned in the royal decree, this day represented “the launch point toward unifying the country and establishing the First Saudi State.”
Since then, the Kingdom has passed through several fundamental developmental stages:
1. The First Saudi State (1727-1818)
2. The Second Saudi State (1824-1891)
3. The Modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (1932 to present)
During these stages, the Kingdom witnessed numerous major achievements and transformations, including:
