Saudi Arabia Celebrates the 93rd National Day: Achievements and Future Visions
Saudi Arabia is celebrating today the 93rd National Day for the unification of the Kingdom, which falls on February 22 of each year. This precious national occasion represents the anniversary of the Kingdom’s founding by King Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1932, reinforcing national bonds and reflecting pride and dignity in the Saudi identity.

In a special statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, said: “We celebrate today the 93rd National Day for the unification of the Kingdom, a day of pride and dignity for what we have achieved of accomplishments under our wise leadership. On this day, we remember the sacrifices and heroism of our founding ancestors, and draw from them the determination to continue the path of development and prosperity.”
His Highness added: “Vision 2030 represents a roadmap for a bright future, where we work to diversify the economy and enhance the Kingdom’s regional and global standing. We are proud of what we have achieved in various fields, and we look forward to achieving more successes, God willing.”
From his side, Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud indicated that “the National Day represents an opportunity to celebrate the rich Saudi culture and heritage, which is an integral part of our national identity. We work to enhance this heritage and preserve it for future generations.”
In a related context, the Ministry of Tourism announced the organization of various events and celebrations in different regions of the Kingdom on the occasion of the National Day. The ministry’s official spokesman said: “We are preparing to receive millions of visitors to enjoy the diverse events and shows that reflect our culture and national identity.”
Regarding developmental achievements, the Ministry of Economy and Planning reported that the Kingdom has achieved remarkable economic growth during recent years, where the gross domestic product rose from 2.6 trillion riyals in 2016 to 3.2 trillion riyals in 2022, an increase of 23%.
The ministry also indicated that the private sector’s contribution to the gross domestic product increased from 39% in 2016 to 41% in 2022, reflecting the success of economic diversification efforts.
In the field of education, the Ministry of Education announced that the enrollment rate in higher education rose to 60% in 2022, compared to 45% in 2016, contributing to building human capital and achieving Vision 2030.
On this precious national occasion, the world’s eyes are on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is achieving qualitative accomplishments in various fields under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

    The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its National Day on February 22nd each year, commemorating the unification of the kingdom by King Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1932. On this day, the streets and squares of Saudi cities are adorned with green flags and pictures of scholars and King Salman bin Abdulaziz, celebrating this precious national occasion. Citizens and residents organize various festive events and activities, such as air, sea, and land shows, fireworks, folk festivals, musical concerts, and more.

    Saudi Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, stated in a press release on the occasion of National Day: “National Day is an occasion that we all take pride in as Saudis. It is a day when we remember the efforts of King Abdulaziz Al Saud in unifying the country and establishing the third Saudi state, and we draw inspiration from his determination and resolve to continue the path of development and prosperity that the kingdom is witnessing under the reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his faithful Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman.”

    The minister added: “National Day is also an opportunity to renew our loyalty and belonging to the dear homeland, express our love and pride for it, and stand united behind our wise leadership in facing challenges and achieving the aspirations of our generous people.”

    The General Authority for Statistics released data showing that the population of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reached 35 million by the end of 2022, an increase of 2.3% compared to the previous year, according to population estimates. The data also indicated that the number of Saudi citizens reached about 21 million, accounting for 60% of the total population, while the number of foreign residents reached about 14 million, accounting for 40%.

    In this context, the official spokesperson for the General Authority for Statistics, Taysir Al-Mufarrej, said: “The population growth witnessed by the kingdom reflects the political, security, economic, and social stability it enjoys, as well as its attractiveness to investments and competencies from various countries around the world. This growth also contributes to enhancing the kingdom’s role as an important regional and international center in various fields.”

    The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its National Day for the 92nd time this year, with the first official celebration of this occasion taking place in 1965 by order of King Faisal bin Abdulaziz. Since then, National Day has become an official holiday in all government and private sectors

  • وفاة الشيخ صالح بن عبد العزيز آل الشيخ

    الرياض – توفي مساء أمس الاثنين الشيخ صالح بن عبد العزيز آل الشيخ، عضو هيئة كبار العلماء في المملكة العربية السعودية، عن عمر ناهز 75 عاماً.
    وشيع جثمان الفقيد عقب صلاة عصر اليوم الثلاثاء من مسجد الإمام تركي بن عبد الله بالرياض، حيث أم الصلاة عليه الشيخ عبد العزيز بن عبد الله آل الشيخ، مفتي عام المملكة.
    وكان الفقيد قد ولد عام 1946 في مدينة الرياض، وحفظ القرآن الكريم في صغره، ثم التحق بمعهد الرياض العلمي، وبعد تخرجه عمل مدرساً في المعهد المذكور.
    وفي عام 1992 صدر أمر ملكي بتعيين الشيخ صالح عضواً في هيئة كبار العلماء، وظل في هذا المنصب حتى وفاته، مقدماً إسهامات علمية ودعوية متميزة.
    وقد نعى الديوان الملكي الفقيد، معرباً عن بالغ الحزن والأسى، سائلاً الله أن يتغمده بواسع رحمته ويسكنه فسيح جناته.
    وأعرب العديد من المسؤولين والعلماء والدعاة عن تعازيهم الحارة لأسرة الفقيد وللشعب السعودي، مثنين على مسيرته العلمية والدعوية المباركة.
    رحم الله الشيخ صالح بن عبد العزيز آل الشيخ وأسكنه فسيح جناته، وألهم أهله وذويه ومحبيه الصبر والسلوان.
